#Playtherapists are very skilled at using play to help children to process trauma. We know when to let things play out, when to step in, how to reflect, how to play with in a therapeutic way. We also have masses of training in child development to know what stages children are at etc. We fight constantly for the integrity of our profession because of the word ‘play’. Please don’t say “I integrate play” or “I use Play Therapy” if that isn’t your training. It’s misleading and downgrades the years of training that post graduate Play Therapists have gone through. Professionals if Play Therapy is required please find one instead of someone who says “I integrate play” You can find Play Therapists on the BAPT register!
