Mind Mosaic Child and Family Therapies provide a 6 day/ 2 evenings a week mental health service to infants, new parents, children, teenagers and parents/ families at our therapy base in Ladyburn Business Centre in Inverclyde.
We are a registered charity regulated by OSCR and Disclosure Scotland to work with children and young people up to and including age 18yrs.
We are a team of highly qualified and clinically trained Play Therapists, Counsellors, and Family Workers.
Our therapists are trained and qualified to post graduate Masters level and staff are registered by BAPT, PTUK, and BACP.
BAPT( The British Association of Play Therapists) meet the high standard and ethical guideline of the Professional Standards Authority.
We consider all referrals -however the majority of our referrals include medium to complex issues for children young people and parents who experience challenging life events and psychological difficulties. We also provide attachment relationship play based groups for babies and parents.
All young people and families receive full assessment and/ or therapy from a fully qualified therapist who receives clinical supervision from an approved clinical supervisor and are covered by professional and public indemnity insurance.
This is a check and balance for the public and provides confidence to parents and referrers who want to know that the worker who sits in front of their young person who presents with a serious issue recognises it as such and knows how to respond effectively or signpost appropriately- and to whom.
When our therapists renew their registration yearly it is a requirement of the registration body that evidence of hours of supervision are confirmed.
We work with a large network of colleagues and partners in Inverclyde and across Scotland of whom we share a high standard of ethical practice and processes- all of which the young person is at the centre of our thinking.
If your child or teenager is facing a difficulty it can often seem like a minefield to ascertain who can provide the appropriate fit- and to decide where to go. Ask questions around level of support that can be offered. Ask about previous experience relevant to what is being offered and level of qualification- check professional registers- all registered professional therapists and counsellors can be looked up on a public register. If they do not hold a professional qualification- check what level of qualification is appropriate to the referral.
